2017 is fast approaching with just hrs to go. Ready or not here we come. These past few weeks I have been reflecting on 2016 and looking ahead to 2107.Like looking through the lens of my camera I try to see whats in store or what sort of photos I would like to shoot.I hopefully await the perfect moement to catch that perfect shot.
Are you ready to leave behind 2016 and embrace 2017 ? What exactly does that even mean ?
Normally I would make a big long list of things I want to accomplish, places I want to travel to and grandiose goals I want to achieve. However, I realise time cannot be erased and whether or not we are ready, January 1 2017 will arrive. This year I have made the decision to live more presently to take each day as it comes and enjoy the small moments. To watch for rainbows and new possibilities each day.I am hopeful for 2017.
Yes, I do have some goals such as coaching a group of new runners and travelling the Mediterranean. However, the here and now seems to call out my name. Perhaps it is because I suffered a major disc herniation in my back and I am not even sure what 2017 will bring as I am on the waitlist to meet a neurosurgeon.
What I do know for sure, is my life is blessed beyond measure. Injury or no injury I am so grateful for my healthy family, for a warm house to live in.A Beautiful country to live in and good health. Yes, I have struggles like each of us does. In 2017 I want to stop and enjoy the beauty around me, to embrace the small moments.
I can plan away 2017 but ready or not it will come, plans are good but they are simply a framework for life. At the end of 2017 will I be able to say I was a better wife, a better mother, grandmother, friend and neighbour, If I can honestly answer ” YES” to all of the above it will have been a very successful 2017.
